Hazard's penalty miss was not enough to stop Chelsea from trashing their Visitors 4-0


Hazard threw away an early spot kick but the Blues went on to defeat their Israeli visitors thanks to goals from Willian, Oscar, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas

Chelsea recovered from their backsliding form in the Premier League and begin fortunes their Champions League campaign with a glory and comfortable 4-0 win over their visitors Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Willian gave Chelsea the lead in the begining of the first half before Oscar, Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas grabbed the remaining goals as the hosts cruised to top of Group G table at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

Chelsea went into the clash after collecting only four points from five premier league games this season. 

Eden Hazard has been running on a bad performance since the beginning of this season, and wednesday night was as bad as other games as he skied a spot kick sixth minute into the game.

Willian put Chelsea ahead of Maccabi Tel Aviv and was later removed due to a hamstring injury, his Replacement Diego Costa won a spot Kick  which was carefully converted by Oscar and Costa later netted himself a beautiful goal.

Fabregas concluded the goal riot in the 78 minute with a good work by finding the back of an empty net.


Chelsea's poor league performance didn't affect them as the started well, willian won a spot kick from throughball given to him by Fabregas, when he was brought down by the panicking  goalie Predrag Rajkovic.

The goalie was not only happy not to have seen a red card but he was more happy when Hazard skied the spot kick.

15 minutes later willian scored from a set piece, curling the ball towards the back post and the goalie watched in anticipation as the ball went over everybody and went straight into the top corner.

Willian's field play was over in 23 minutes due to muscle injury and was Substituted with Diego Costa.

Chelsea was awarded another penalty just before half time when Costa was brought down easily by a former Chelsea player Tal Ben Haim.

Oscar did not hesitate in putting the ball past Rajkovic making it 2-0

Chelsea continued their impressive game in the second half when Costa added another goal in the 58 minute making it 3-0.

Chelsea held much of the possesion, knocking the ball around and wearing there opponent down before the fourth goal from Fabregas who tapped home a rebound after Loic Remy had been denied by Rajkovic.
