chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech has agreed personal terms with Arsenal

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is closing in on a move to Premier League rivals Arsenal, according to Sky Sports.

Sky sources report that the 33 year old has agreed personal terms in principle on a switch to the Emirates Stadium, but the two clubs are still not close to agreeing a fee with negotiations set to continue this week.

The size of the transfer fee is not yet known but reports indicate that it will be a cash only deal. Chelsea had requested a home-grown English player to be part of the transfer with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain thought to be of great interest to the West London club, the but that deal is apparently no longer being considered.

Petr Cech is set to leave Chelsea after 11 years of loyal service at Stamford Bridge. The keeper has been an integral part of the success that the Blues have enjoyed since the start of the Roman Abramovich era, and it is thought that the willingness to sell to rivals Arsenal is an act of good will from the Russian billionaire to one of the clubs most successful goalkeepers.

The signing of Petr Cech would be a strong statement from the Gunners as they set to mount a serious Premier League title challenge next season.
