Darmian Matteo has won Manchester United's Man of the Match for the first game of 2015/2016 season after a wonderful display in his debut game against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Italian born defender was sharp and confident in defensive duties and like wise attack duties, with 85% pass accuracy and 5 clearances during the opening day 1-0 win against Spurs at Old Trafford.
He was firstly giving the thumbs up for his perfomances in Manchester United's pre-season tour in USA, Darmain picked up where he left off and was given a standing ovation as he was substituted by Antonio Valencia in the 79th minute.
The manchester United twitter fans gave him 64% of the votes and he was ahead of Sergio Romero also debutant (29%) and Juan Mata(7%).
Louis Van Gaal was full of praise of the 25-year-old defender; "I liked the performance of Darmian. He played a good match in the Spurs half and when the opponents had the ball. I think he was our best player."
