Wolfsburg issue warning to Bendtner on his fitness; forced to train alone

Wolfsburg have made it clear to Ex gunner Nicklas Bendtner, to step up his fitness or look else where to ply his trade.

The club bluntly told the striker they won't accept lack of professionalism and was put to an individual training programme to get him up to speed.

Nicklas Bendtner was released by Arsenal in August 2014 and he moved to the Bundesliga side where he Managed to find the back of the net once in 18 league appearance last campaign.

With Max Kruse arrival from Borussia Monchengladbach,  and Bas Dost scoring 16 league goals in the last campaign, Bendtner has fallen behind the pecking order.

The 27-year-old has now been issued a warning from the office of the director of sport Klaus Allofs that he must work hard to fit in at the Volkswagen Arena.

"The demands on a footballer in Germany are different to in England or in Denmark," Allofs told Sport Bild magazine.

"If anybody wants to play for us then they can follow us. Anybody who doesn't want to do that and does not get in line has no place at this club."

Bendtner has been working on an individual training programme, with head coach Dieter Hecking adding: "I hope he realises this is good for him. He can really do with this to get better."

Back in April, Bendtner turned up late to training and was dropped for a fixture against Schalke.
