Manchester United have already agreed personal terms with Arda Turan, and a deal is imminent. [trtspor]”

We think we may have found the Turkish version of Spain's Francois Gallardo. Someone who goes on a TV show and claims all kinds of things which are always a step ahead and more sensational than anyone else has claimed before. Step forward Ersin Düzen.

According to Haber 10, and several other Turkish sources including Haber Ler, and an army of excited fans on social media, Düzen went on Turkish TV last night and said that Arda Turan will very soon be a Manchester United player. Terms were agreed, hands shaken, fee sorted out and Turan could be considered a new player of the Red Devils. It would be imminent. Düzen, perhaps not receiving the gasps he was hoping for, also added that Turan was set to have a medical or one was even happening. Done deal etc etc

However, within hours the player's agent had denied such reports. Ahmet Bulut is quoted as saying "Arda Turan is currently on holiday in Turkey. There were negotiations with Manchester United, he hasn't passed medical checks. We also met with PSG."

Bulut reckons Turan doesn't fancy a move to PSG, which by means of ruling one named team out, would leave Manchester United. He also said a deal would be sorted out very quickly and soon we'd all know where Turan would be playing next season... praise the lord.

In our opinion Bulut is hinting strongly toward a Manchester United transfer but not quite as strongly as Turkish TV jumping the gun. Whether Bulut is hinting strongly because there's a very strong chance the transfer is happening or hinting strongly because it's great to be linked with Manchester United, we really can't tell. If it was just the Turkish press and Düzen then we'd say to ignore everything completely, but it's not.

Manchester United interest has been claimed in both Spain and Italy and whilst, again, we didn't think much of those reports, El Confidencial have now joined the party. The Spanish outlet are pretty reliable as far as transfer reliability goes, and they reckon Louis van Gaal tried to sign Turan last summer but the Turkish international was unsure on things and Atletico Madrid didn't want to sell. Turan decided to stay where he was for a year, say El Confidencial, with the express intention of later moving.

El Confidencial don't say a deal with Manchester United is now done but they do reiterate Bulut's earlier comments about Turan wanting to move to England. Spanish newspaper AS said this week that Turan would prefer Chelsea but it would be clear to us that Turan more than fancies a Manchester United transfer too, with his agent demonstrating that. Bulut reckons we should know by Friday.
