Arda Turan's Agent denies that the midfielder had a medical atManchester United

Since making himself available in recent weeks, speculation surrounding where Arda Turan will play his football next season has intensified.

The Turkish midfielder will leave Atletico Madrid after four very successful years at the club with his agent, Ahmed Bulut, saying he would pick a new team by Friday.

Reports indicate that Turan has a preference for the Premier League, but other stories claimed that the player had a medical at Manchester United and Bulut has denied this.

Speaking to NTV Spor, he said: “The new team will be known on Friday. Barcelona is a great team, as are PSG and Manchester United.

“When we were planning Arda’s next career move, we considered that he had won everything at Atletico Madrid in four years so we seek the best for him and came to the conclusion that the right decision was to leave Atletico.

“Arda Turan will not make a statement until he has signed the new contract but, in the next four days, we will decide which team he will play for.

“Arda has not met with Manchester United or passed a medical. When you find out his new team on Friday you’ll agree we made the right choice.”

It’s worth noting that Bulut doesn’t dismiss the possibility of Turan ending up at Old Trafford, but he is saying that no meeting or medical have happened yet.

United face competition for his signature from Premier League champions Chelsea. The Blues clearly have a close relationship with Atletico, buying two players from the Spanish club last season.

This was in addition to recalling world class goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

With former Atletico striker Falcao also on the brink of joining Chelsea, perhaps Turan will be persuaded to move to a home away from home.

Or perhaps all those familiar faces will have the opposite effect and drive him into the arms of Louis van Gaal. Or Laurent Blanc. Or Luis Enrique.
