According to French reports, big spending PSG are interested in a one year loan deal for Barcelona legend Xavi.

Barcelona captain Xavi will leave the club for Qatari club Al Sadd this summer at the very top after winning La Liga last week for the eighth time.

Le Parisien claim that PSG see a loan deal for the 35 year old passing maestro as an opportunity to sidestep FFP regulations.

It is reported that PSG have been working on a potential Xavi loan deal for some time, taking inspiration from Frank Lampard’s loan at Manchester City this season.

The Spanish midfielder signed a two year deal with Al Sadd, – the owner of which is the brother of PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

PSG are reportedly working on a one year loan deal for Xavi in which they will have to pay no transfer fee and only a portion of his wages.

However, in September 2014 Xavi said: “I told the club that I didn’t want to play for another team in Europe; I didn’t want to play against Barcelona.“
