Liverpool has announced the signing of Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke for a deal worth £32.5 million, but the deal seems to have angered Liverpool fans surprisingly.
The front man netted 42 times in 88games through out his stay at Aston Villa, and has signed a five-year contract at Anfield after passing his medicals in London earlier. Liverpool will pay £16million up front with the remainder to be paid over the course of his contract.
Liverpool has made some other signings this summer like forwards Danny Ings from Burnley, and Roberto Firmino from Hoffenheim, as they attempt to lift the goal burden from injury-prone Daniel Sturridge after the sell of Luis Suarez, and more recently, Raheem Sterling’s departure from Merseyside.
The 24 year old will not join up with the rest of the Liverpool squad until they return after Friday’s match against a Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur.
