Arsenal and Manchester United linked with RealMadrid striker KarimBenzema

Spanish paper AS have issued something of a waffly piece on Sunday, linking Arsenal, PSG and Man United to Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Benzema’s availability is touted amid belief that Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play as a central attacker for Los Blancos next season.

According to AS, new coach Rafa Benitez is favouring playing Ronaldo through the middle, rather than on the left wing, in 2015-16. If that comes to pass, then Benzema is likely to see his first team opportunities dwindle dramatically next season.

AS claim Benitez is favouring a 4-2-3-1 formation for Real.

Moreover, the paper suggest that the 27-year-old Frenchman would be open to a move from Santiago Bernabeu, as he doesn’t want “to spend a season on the bench”.

When it comes to Benzema’s link to Arsenal, readers however have reasons to be skeptical. As reported by the Spanish outlet:

Arsene Wenger has always been keen to take him to Arsenal. Today, the website ClubCall has reported that the Premier League club are set to make an offer to Real Madrid for €25 million, a figure considerably lower than the €36 million Madrid paid to sign him from Lyon.

There is equal reason to question Benzema’s link to Manchester United, as AS’s reasons for linking the striker to Old Trafford are as follows:

In June the Manchester Evening News revealed that the United vice president Ed Woodward met the agent of Benzema, Karim Djaziri, in The Savoy hotel in London to ask about the possibility of taking him to Old Trafford to replace Falcao.
