Morgan Schneiderlin agrees deal to join Manchester United {L'Equipe}

Morgan Schneiderlin is on his way to Manchester United, reckon French newspaper L'Equipe. The Southampton midfielder has agreed a four year contract with the Premier League club and negotiations are ongoing to reach a fee between the sides, with L'Equipe unsure of how much Manchester United will pay.

The newspaper reference claims in the British press of an amount being agreed but L'Equipe disagree with that and say that talks are still ongoing. However, it would be a mistake to say that L'Equipe don't present the deal as concrete, they do - they clearly believe the fee is just a matter of time.

The French newspaper call it an 'incredible story' for the Southampton star, and they're certainly right on that. Just over a year ago Schneiderlin was so little known and regarded in France that when claims appeared in the British press he was considering changing his international allegiance to England, it was believed by some.

He had never represented his country. However, Schneiderlin quickly denied the story, presenting the report as absolute nonsense, but he used his new found profile in France to talk about wanting to play for a bigger club. He hasn't stopped talking about it since and the move to Manchester United would be a dream for the player.

L'Equipe are relatively reliable, but what we would say is that a couple of days ago they ran a headline saying 'Schweinsteiger se rapproache de Manchester United' and today they say 'Schneiderlin se rapproache de MU' so if you believe one you probably have to believe both.
