Javier Hernandez "CHICHARITO" shipped back to Old Trafford from RealMadrid

Mexican striker Javier Hernandez is on his way back to Manchester United after Real Madrid rejected their option to sign him on a permanent deal, according to BBC Sport.

Chicharito scored nine times in 33 appearances for the Spanish side over the course of the 2014/15 season, though didn't do enough to convince the club's decision makers that he was worth a permanent transfer. Carlo Ancelotti was sacked as Los Blancos' head coach on Monday evening and Hernandez was not far behind in having his exit confirmed.

However, Hernandez is not expected to go back in to the first team reckoning at Old Trafford upon his return. United are planning a summer of big business at Old Trafford and manager Louis van Gaal made the decision to ship him out last summer - and his stance doesn't appear to have changed.

United have already confirmed that Radamel Falcao will not return to Old Trafford next season given he's failed to impress over the course of his loan spell this term, while Robin van Persie's future is still very much up in the air. Both Hernandez and the Dutchman have only one year left on their contracts at Old Trafford and could walk away for nothing next summer if nothing is agreed.

There are a number of Premier League clubs interested in signing Hernandez on a permanent deal including Southampton, West Ham United and Tottenham, while Inter Milan and a host of other clubs from Europe are monitoring developments. However, no offers have yet been officially made for the player.
