Gerrard blasts Sterling "be a man"

Sterling has been missing in action for the first two days of pre-season training, citing illness as an excuse, and he has openly told the club he doesn't want to participate on their tour


Ex Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard has told The winger "to be a man" and say what he wants instead of making flimsy excuses, after the player missed the first two days of pre-season preparations.

The English international, is a main transfer target for Manchester City this summer.

Liverpool's preparations for the 2015/2016 league campaign started on Wednesday without The prodigal player, who said he was not able to attend due to illness and did same on Thursday.

Gerrard has expressed his dissatisfaction with all that is going on and has said "They all need to be men about the situation," "you don't have to use illness as an excuse to refuse to participate on tour".


Sterling's agent, Aidy Ward, has made claims that the relationship between his client and Liverpool manager has gone sour over the period of the transfer saga.

Meanwhile, the Anfield legend Gerrard is likely to make his LA Galaxy debut against Club America this weekend.
