Nani in doubts of himself as Man United one man rescue mission

Manchester United's Luis Nani has been at loan at Sporting Lisbon this summer as part of the deal which saw Marcos Rojo make the move in the opposite direction.
Nani has impressed at Sporting and rebuilt his reputation which has led to many of the Portuguese club's fans calling for him to stay longer term. Reality makes that very difficult indeed. Sporting couldn't afford to get anywhere near Nani's Manchester United wages and that's before they'd have to think about a transfer fee, the Premier League club have had to subsidise the loan move even though they didn't charge a fee.
On Tuesday evening Nani was at a promotional event at a Lisbon sport shop and was quizzed by the media on Sporting fans wanting him to stay, he was quoted by A Bola as saying "The fans ask me to stay, but we know that is difficult. I have a contract with Manchester and at this time, my ambitions are outside (Sporting). I am very happy with this year I spent at Sporting, it was a great time, I helped the team how I could, but now let's finish the season great and then we'll see."
It sounded like a polite way of Nani saying that, even with finances aside, he has higher ambitions than Sporting and that will see him back at Manchester United. Nani was quizzed on what he could bring to Manchester United, with the question being weighted to suggest the club wouldn't struggle as much with Nani in the team, he replied "It 's not a player that changes a team. Can help, only that. As everyone knows, Manchester is in a transition phase and it's normal that the results are less good, but I believe that in the future things will get better."
It's got to be considered unlikely that Nani can go on to be a star again for Manchester United but the club still own him and he's eager to return, so nothing can be ruled out.
