Man united set to sign Benefica 15 year old shot stopper

With David De Gea’s future at Manchester United still in the balance, Louis van Gaal appears to have signed a promising new goalkeeper Joao Virginia.

The 15 year old Benfica stopper had a trial at Manchester United last summer and has impressed monitoring scouts with his development since.

First choice youth goalkeeper at Benfica, it is unclear how much the Red Devils will have to pay to bring Joao Virginia to Old Trafford.

Portuguese media outlets O Jogo and Diário de Notícias both report that Manchester United are set to confirm the deal in the very near future.

Manchester United are fond of young talent from the top Portuguese teams, signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Anderson and Nani for eight figure sums.

The club have numerous scouts watching various ages of top tier Portuguese football and will hope Joao Virginia could be their next star.
