Manchester City line up £15million bid for Tottenham left back

The Star appear to have reinforced belief that their sports department simply make up stories on Wednesday, with an article linking Manchester City with a £15 million bid for Tottenham left-back Danny Rose.

For the record, Rose has had an excellent season at White Hart Lane for Mauricio Pochettino.
The 24-year-old defender has scored twice for Spurs this season, while he also has provided four assists for the Lillywhites. Moreover, Rose have generally been solid in the tackle and a decent supplier of crosses from the left hand side for Tottenham this year.
Saying all that, City splashing out £15 million on Rose seems far fetched.
The Star note that Aleksandar Kolarov is on the wane, while Gael Clichy still leaves many wondering whether he is good enough for the highest levels of the game. So accepting that City may want to upgrade at left-back is a believable premise.
But thinking that Rose is really going fix City’s problems, and draw them closer to Chelsea in next season’s title race, seems unlikely.
