Barcelona have beaten Chelsea and Manchester United to the signing ofArda Turan

Barcelona appear to have won the race to sign Turkish international Arda Turan according to talksport.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to England, with Chelsea and Manchester United both reported to be interested, however Spanish football correspondent Begona Perez reveals the 28-year-old has all but sealed a €35million switch to Barcelona.

There has been lots of uncertainty about Arda Turan’s future over the last week, with many conflicting reports about the midfielders next destination. If Barcelona do indeed complete the move for the 28 year old then the player would need to wait to make his debut for the Spanish giants as the club continue to serve a ban on all transfers until the end of 2015.

Atlético Madrid are understood to be weighing up a bid for Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla as a possible replacement for Arda Turan.

The Spanish international, who has one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates, has been linked with a move to the Vicente Calderón for the past three summers and Arda Turan’s expected departure could, finally, be the catalyst for the move.
