Perhaps one of the most exciting and dynamic players for Paris Saint-Germain during their Treble-winning run in 2014-15 was Italian Marco Verratti and apparently that hasn't gone unnoticed by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
According to initial reports, Perez met with Verratti's agent to discuss a €50 million transfer deal that would bring the 22-year-old midfielder to Madrid, And have already pre-agreed a €7m-a-year deal.
The fickle nature of transfer season means today's mooted move is tomorrow's DOA deal. As such, Real Madrid issued a statement today saying that the rumours of a move for the Italian were "completely untrue" and that the club has not made any contact with PSG or the player's agent.
