Southampton have rejected Manchester United's £20million bid for MorganSchneiderlin [telegraph]

Southampton have turned down a £20 million bid from Manchester United for France midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports from the Daily Telegraph.

Southampton value the 25 year old at around £25million and Man United are yet to return with another offer.

It is understood that Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on developments but have so far not made an offer for one of Southampton’s most coveted assets.

Morgan Schneiderlin is back in training with the Saints and has an understanding with the south coast side that he will be allowed to join a Champions League club should a suitable offer come in.

It is no secret that the Red Devils are looking to strengthen their side during the summer transfer window, with a midfield general one of their top priorities.

If a move for Morgan Schneiderlin does not materialise it is understood that Manchester United will turn their attentions to Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who is rumoured to favour a move to Old Trafford.
